Alfadine E. (Cleveland) Mitchell, 82, of 413 W. Territorial Road was found dead at her residence Saturday, Dec. 30, 1989.
She was born in Battle Creek and was a lifelong resident. She was a 1925 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. After 25 years, she retired in the 1940's as office manager at International Printing, Inc.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Golden Pals Bowling League at Ken Nottke's Bowl.
She was a past matron and life member of Bryant Chapter #153 Order of the Eastern Star, past worthy high priestess of Calhoun Shrine No. 24 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, past noble grand and president lodge deputy and warden of the Columbia Rebekah Lodge No. 297, patriarch militant of Oriental Lodge No. 19, member of Queen City Court No. 16 Order of the Amarynth, and a member of Daughters of the Nile of Grand Rapids.
Surviving is a brother, Floyd J. Cleveland of Battle Creek. Her husband, Myron A. "Art" Mitchell, died Dec. 12, 1989.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Farley Estes Funeral Home. Memorial donations may go to First Presbyterian Church or charity of one's choice.
