She was born on July 27, 1931, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Alice Ann Peterson and Oge Bernhardt Jensen. When Marilyn was 7 they moved to Thatcher, Utah.
On Aug. 5, 1949, she married Ralph Darrell Barnes in the Logan LDS Temple. Ralph passed away on Nov.19, 1982. She then married Fred Broersma on Dec. 27, 1985.
Marilyn worked at Cowley’s and Falk’s department stores for 29 years. She also worked at Thiokol in the food service department.
She loved working in her yard, planting flowers and shrubs. She was an excellent cook and especially loved to make her home a comfortable place. She was a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Fred Broersma; sister, Sharon (David) Boss; children, Susan (Neal) Johnson of Bartlesville, OK and Ross Barnes of Tremonton; stepchildren, Donna (Alex) Fogel of Bradenton, Florida, James (Dorthy) Broersma of Brigham City, Eugene Broersma of Tulare, California; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Darrel Barnes; brother, Gary Lee Jensen and daughter-in-law, Becki Barnes.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E., Tremonton), from 6-7:30 p.m. A private family service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday Feb. 13.
Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
