She married Alton Bell and together they raised their family. Dean was a wonderful homemaker and a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend.
She was employed for a time at the Adams Store in Unity, did house cleaning for many local families and became a nurse’s aide for Thayer Hospital. She enjoyed word search puzzles and playing Skip-Bo with her family.
She is survived by her son, Daryl Bell and wife Carol of Troy; her daughter, Gloria Philbrick and husband Leon of Clinton; grandsons, Alan Kenney and wife Lori of Monmouth and Lance Kenney and wife Michelle of Fairfield; granddaughter, Karen Bell; great grandchildren, Joshua Kenney, Thomas Kenney, Nicole Kenney, Caitlyn Kenney and Kendra Bell; many other grandchildren who called her “Little Grammie”; sister, Joyce Stillman of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Alton Bell; grandson, Kevin Bell; six sisters, Amber Hall, Hildred Rush, Nina Burtt, Viola Wotton, Erma Hogan and Audrey Rooney; two brothers, Gerald Wotton and Linwood Wotton; son-in-law, Edward Peterson; and grandson, Dwight Stevenson.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Inland Hospital in the Acute Care Unit for the loving care and compassion that Geraldine and they received.
Interment will take place at the Rogers Cemetery, Rogers Road in Troy.
