Curtis was born on December 27, 1935 in McMinnville, TN, one of twelve children of the late Delbert and Willie Harper Boren
He served his Lord for 53 as an ordained minister having pastored congregations in Ohio and Tennessee. He was also a licensed machinist of 42 years. A devoted husband and father, who enjoyed spreading the word of God, woodworking, gardening, traveling and camping.
In addition to his parents and in-laws Zella and Albert Taylor he was also preceded in death by brothers, Roy, James, and Franklin Boren; brothers-in-law Joe Hartman, Jessie Moore and Donnie Taylor: son-in-law Lennie Winters.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife Iva Lee (Taylor) whom he wed on July 5, 1955. He is also survived by two daughters, Becky Winters of Panama City, FL and Kathy (John) Locke; three sons Terry Boren, Douglas Boren and Keith (Correen) Boren all of McMinnville, TN; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Stiofan) McInerney, Alicia (Pete) Kellarakos, Heather (Christopher) Cardin, Amanda (David) Millican; eight great-grandchildren, Keira, Riley, Ainsley, Curtis, John Christopher, Skyler, Christian, and Travis; four sisters, Opal Hartman, Betty Moore, Linda Redmon, and Brenda Hawkins; four brothers, Herman, Marvin, Ray and Lynn Boren.
Too many nieces, nephews and cousins to list, also survive but are just as loved and remembered.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Cumberland Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of TN to be announced at a later date.
