Charles Lewis Shapp age 53 of Des Moines, Iowa passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
He was born on July 11, 1962 in Claremore, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Nancy Shapp and his step-father, James Washington.
He is survived by his longtime companion Gladys Weese of the home; 5 step-children, Phraitho Madison, Sr. and his wife Sharon, Albert Madison and his wife Lori, Harlen Madison and his wife Billie, Randle Beerbower and Robert Madison, Sr., one brother, James Washington, Jr., 2 sisters, Nina Burrows of Grove, Oklahoma and Angela Yost of Miami, Oklahoma, his favorite aunt Sharon Blalock of Quapaw, Oklahoma and his uncle Bob Shapp and his wife, Iris of Florida. Also surviving are step-grandchildren, Kayla, Phraitho, Jr. and Kassandra, 3 step-great-grandchildren, Adline, Joshua, Jr. and Allison and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Charles Lewis Shapp will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Quapaw Tribal Building, Quapaw, Oklahoma.
Interment will be in Stafford-Shapp Cemetery, in Quapaw.
Pallbearers will be Justin Burrow, Bucky J. Washington, Daniel Washington, Bobby Washington, Richard Shapp, Jr. and Tucker Taber.
Native American Rites will be conducted by Dennis Jennings.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
