Born June 23, 1912, in Monrovia, she was the daughter of the late Albert S. Tabler Sr. and Eva E. Care Tabler. She was the wife of Paul Cartee Derr, who died Nov. 23, 1983.
She had been a resident of Feagaville since 1936 and had taught elementary school in Carroll and Frederick counties for 19 years.
She was an active member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, where she taught the Women's Bible Class, participated with the Lutheran Church Women's Group, and attended THEOS, a group for widows and widowers within the church. She was also a past president and member of the Ballanger Homemakers.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Barbara Ann and John Huesman of Williamsburg, Va., and Wanda Jean and Charles Stockman of Frederick; grandchildren and spouses Tana Jean and Chris Flanagan of Frederick and Charles Robert and Lura Stockman of Cascade; grandchildren Mark Derr Huesman and Paul Joseph Huesman, both of Baltimore; great-grandchildren Kaylyn Nicole and Kara Jean Flanagan, both of Frederick; siblings Vivian Howes of Damascus and Ralph Tabler of Frederick; brother and sister-in-law Harvey and Bernice Tabler of Mount Airy; and sister-in-law Virginia Derr Everhart of Frederick.
She was predeceased by son Paul Richard Derr and siblings Virginia Dayhoff and Hazel, Edith, Howard, Willard, Irvin and Albert Tabler.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Feagaville, with the Rev. John F. Bromhal officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
