Charles Edwin Callahan, 68, of 905 Old Boiling Springs Rd. in Shelby, passed away Monday February 1, 2016 at Hospice at Wendover.

Born December 26, 1947 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Ralph Clayton Callahan and Nancy McCurry Callahan. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth Justice Callahan, sister, Maultie Ann Bridges, and sister-in-law, Barbara Blackburn Callahan.

Survivors include three brothers, Brevard Callahan, Steve Callahan & wife Doris, and Eddie Callahan & wife Angi, sister, Carolyn Price & husband Walt all of Shelby and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

The visitation will be 1:00PM until 3:00PM Thursday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be 3:00PM Thursday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with Revs. Phil Hughes and Macky Turner officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
