Harold Erwin Rice, 66, of 1911 Ridgewood Road, died Friday night at a local hospital after along illness. He was a native of Pullman, Wash., and came to this area nine years ago from Lewiston, Idaho. He had been employed at the St. Joseph's Hospital until his illness last year.
He was a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 631 of Lewiston, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Josephine, of Eureka; two brothers, Fred Rice of Pomeroy, Wash., and Max Rice of Hilt, Calif.
Funeral services were held today at 1:30 p.m. at Cooper's Mortuary Chapel of the Ferns. The Rev. S. Martin Eidsath, pastor of the Mendocino Presbyterian church officiated and burial was in the Ocean View Cemetery.
