OBITUARY

NINA GRACE SWEDLUND

Nina Grace Hoover was born July 6th, 1892 at Council Bluffs and died at Stratford, Iowa on December 16, 1957 at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 10 days. During her childhood days she with her parents moved to Boone, Iowa where she resided until 1923 when she was united in marriage to Charles E. Swedlund when she and her husband moved to Stratford. To her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hoover, were born two children, one son Merill of Tereness and one daughter, Nina. There are a number of relatives scattered throughout the States whose addresses are not known, but there is one of her second cousins, a cousin to her father everyone knows - Ex President Herbert Hoover.

Nina possessed a high standard of Christian faith and she did not show this in words alone, but in deeds as well. As a member of the Swede Bend Covenant Church she served in several capacities as Sunday School teacher, organist and as chairman of the Y.P.S. Nina will be greatly missed, not only be her near ones, but the community as well and although we miss her she is now in the Heavenly home where all is joy without pain.

Farewell Nina thou has left us
Sad and lonely are the days
For none knew thee but to love thee
None named thee but to praise
But the angels are rejoicing
She has entered pearly gates
Never more of pain or sorrow
But abundant joy awaits.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, December 19th, 1:30 at the Hanson Funeral Parlors and 2:00 o'clock at the Baptist Church in Stratford with Rev. G.A. Youngstrom as officiating clergyman. Mrs. Arthur Larson of Stratford sang two solos, "I Have a Future" and "Beyond the Sunset". Pallbearers were Albin Anderson, Fabian Peterson, Earl Patterson, Carlos Shoberg, Earl Swedlund and Robert Swedlund.

Burial was in South Marion Cemetery.
