Fairmont----Service for Judith Danielson, 88, of the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Olson Funeral Home in Fairmont with burial in Lake Fremont Cemetery at Dunnell.
She died Thursday afternoon at the Fairmont Community Hospital. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home Saturday.
Judith Bergsten was born April 12, 1897, at Ogden, Iowa. She moved to Dunnell when she was 2. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus Academy in 1915. She graduated from a two-year teaching course at St. Cloud in 1925 and she received her bachelors degree in 1951 from St. Cloud State University. She also studied at Columbia University and the University of Chicago.
She taught at West Concord, Minn., and Harvey, Ill.
While at Harvey, she directed band, choir and orchestra.
She moved to Fairmont in 1936 where she taught in grade schools and later in junior high until retiring in 1965. She was active in choirs in the Fairmont area.
She became a resident of the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in 1981. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Dunnell, MEA, BPW, and was also active in Keen-Agers at Grace Lutheran Church at Fairmont.
Survivors include two nieces.
