Kelly served his country faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II He had worked as a building contractor and later as a union carpenter for many years for area companies. He was the owner of Tri-City Coins & Clocks.
He was the husband of the late Ann (nee Mongillo) Arnone.
Mr. Arnone was a member of the American Legion, Orange, Connecticut, Post # 127. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid poker player at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
He was survived by a daughter, Barbara (Richard J.) Arnone Parrillo Scarpa of New Haven, Connecticut; two sons, Michael K. (Tracey E.) Arnone of Middletown, Connecticut, and Joseph F. Arnone of Derby, Connecticut ; six grandchildren, Dr. Lucian J. (Nancy) Parrillo of Meriden, Connecticut, Kellyann (Ronald) Parrillo Milkowski of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Stephen Joseph "Lefty"(Chanthy Yates) Parrillo of Ansonia, Connecticut, Blake M. Arnone of Middletown, Connecticut, Ryan J. (Danielle) Arnone of South Dayton, New York and Elizabeth C. Arnone of Derby, Connecticut; two great-grandchildren, Marissa Parrillo and Estelle "Stella" Milkowski; a brother Joseph D.(Valerie E.) Arnone of Ansonia, Connecticut; and his friend and companion Yvonne K. Prowell of Bethany, Connecticut.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Thomas F. Arnone and a sister, Rose Mary Arnone Nowatenski.
Visitation was held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven, Connecticut. His funeral procession left the funeral home Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 9:15 a.m.. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Holy Infant Church, 450 Race Brook Road, Orange, Connecticut at 10:00 a.m.. Interment with full military honors followed in the All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, Connecticut.
