Note: Winant Williamson Lewis had two wives; Joanna Griffin (maiden name), and after Joanna's death in 1840, Winant married Susannah West Merrill (Merrill maiden name), who became a widow in 1838 when her first husband, Ebenezer Darling, died. Ebenezer is buried at West Cemetery, West Cornwall, Addison County, Vermont. It should be noted that Joanna died in Orwell, Addison County, Vermont and is buried at West Cemetery, too. There are, also, "Lewis" children that are buried at West Cemetery, West Cornwall, Addison County, Vermont; Celistia S Lewis, died May 31,1841 (Joanna is her mother) and William Lewis, born Oct 27, 1841 & died July 28, 1842, who was 9 months old when he died (Susannah "Susan" is his mother). Winant and Joanna had several children together before her death in 1840. Winant & Susannah had William together. The last Census that I ran across for Winant was 1860 for Fond du lac County, Wisconsin. I AM NOT CERTAIN WHICH CEMETERY HE WAS BURIED AT...he was an older man in 1860, Fond du lac Co., Wisconsin.
