Funeral will take place from his late residence, 1227 N street n.w., at 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

1850, Mobile; s. Franklin Lewis Owen, Mobile, and Elizabeth C. Maury; b. Feb. 22, 1833; Merchant at Mobile, 1852-55; Appointed Second Lieut., 9th Reg., U. S. A., 1855, afterwards promoted to First Lieut, and Captain, resigned commission before his death; m. Margaret Wright, Oregon, 1857; d. August, 1878.

Philip A. Owen, fifth son of Franklin Lewis, born in 1833, was educated in Alabama, and appointed from that State a lieutenant in the United States Army, in which he attained the grade of captain. When the civil war occurred he retained his allegiance to the "Stars and Stripes," and was the only descendant of Goronwy Owen who wore the blue. He died in 1880. He married Margaret, daughter of Col. Wright, U. S. A., and left two children, Franklin Lewis and Margaret.

Franklin L., son of Captain Owen, is lieutenant in the Eighth Infantry, U. S. A.
