David graduated from Attica High School in 1939. He later entered the infantry of the U.S. Army during WW II. At the time of his honorable discharge in 1946, he had attained the rank of Corporal.
David worked at Overpeck Lumber Yard in Attica for 15 years. He later worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica from 1965 until his retirement in 1987. He worked in general maintenance and the housing department. He also had built 8 homes by himself while living in Attica. As a young child, David attended the Attica First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed tinkering in his work shop.
On June 13, 1944, David married Velma R. Kiger in Attica. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2009.
David leaves behind three nephews, Bob (Rose) Borst, LaPorte, IN; Charles (Shirley) Borst, Williamsport, Mike (Karoylee) Borst, Waynetown; a niece, Penny Borst, Indianapolis; his close friend, David (Annie) Morgan, Williamsport. A nephew, Lee Borst preceded him in death.
As per David’s request there will be no services and burial will be in the Rainsville Cemetery, Rainsville, Indiana."
