Albert Stanley Bailey, known to friends and family as "Stan" passed from this life on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Grand Junction, CO. Stan was born March 17, 1930 in Holdenville OK to Albert Stanley "Doc" Bailey and Onnie Leona (Brown) Bailey. He attended schools in Holdenville while working alongside his parents at their restaurant,"Doc's Cafe". In 1947, he graduated as salutatorian of Holdenville High School where he was active in the band and glee club. Stan attended the University of Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1955. Following his marriage to Laura Dolores Phillips on June 10, 1955, Stan completed his General Medicine Internship at Highland Park General Hospital, Highland Park, MI. He subsequently served as a Captain in the United State Air Force at Suffolk County Air Force Base in Westhampton Beach, Long Island, NY. In 1959, Stan began his medical practice in Oklahoma City at Mayfair Medical Center. With Dr. Martin Andrews and Dr. Larry Diehl, Stan provided over 35 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Oklahoma as a Family Practice physician. He relocated to Pueblo, CO in 1978 where he served as the Associate Director for the Southern Colorado Family Practice Residency program until 1981. Stan returned to Oklahoma City and retired from the Central Oklahoma Medical Group in 1992. In retirement, Stan was an active Choir member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Edmond and Trinity Episcopal Church in Guthrie. He was a member of the Stillwater Mineral and Gem Society. Stan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Dolores; son David Stanley Bailey and wife Diana of Fruita, CO; daughter Sydney Rebecca Morrow and husband, Tom of Glenbrook, NV; grandsons Ryan and Kevin Bailey; and granddaughters Leslie and Lisa Morrow. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Armstrong Colyer of Boise, ID. Funeral services will be officiated by Father Mark Story at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Edmond, on February 2, 2016 at 10:30 am, with burial following in Holdenville, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions to one's charity of choice be made in Stan's honor.
