Funeral at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Acton A. (Y.C.) Addison, 84 of Gadsden who died Saturday, June 7, 1997. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Mr. Addison was a carpenter by trade and retired from Jackson Concrete. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the loving father of 10 children, 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Verna B. Addison; parents, Belton and Tressie Addison and brothers, F.M., M.C. and Billy Ray. Mr. Addison is survived by his children and families and brothers, Reno and Earl Addison and sisters, Inez Westbrook and Joyce Garrett. (excerpts from The Gadsden Times, Sunday June 8, 1997)
