He was a former employee of the Semet Solvay and was a retired farmer who served 3 years in the U.S. Army's 109th Combat Battalion during the Korean War, stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 4464 in Gallipolis, Ohio and was of the Baptist faith.

a daughter-in-law: Jeri Riggle of Willow Wood, Ohio
nine grandchildren: Shawn (Jackie) Corn of Willow Wood, Shannon (Gwen) McGraw of Rio Grande, Ohio, Scott (Samantha) Myers of Coal Grove, Adam (Bethanie) Corn of Scottown, Ohio, Christina ((Todd) Shafer of Willow Wood, Jeremy (Kristen) Riggle of Willow Wood, Mika Ross of Dunbar, WV, Aleshia Napier of Willow Wood, Jill (Travis) Moore of Huntington, WV

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Perkins Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Don Massie officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church.. Military graveside rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 4464.
