Mr. Baker passed away Thursday morning at his Red Oak residence. He was born in Yukon to Amon B. and Jessie Marie (Thompson) Baker. He served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years. Mr. Baker was married to Catherine L. Everett. He was an aircraft mechanic for LTV and a member of the Park Meadows Baptist Church in Waxahachie.

His survivors include his wife, Cathy Baker of Red Oak; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Robin Baker of Midlothian; daughters and sons-in-law, Donita and Robert Potts of Richardson and Diane and Todd Zimmerman of Red Oak; grandchildren, Melissa and Tommy Baker of Arkansas, Bobby, Christopher and Chelsea Zimmerman of Red Oak and Pasha, Natasha, Masha and Dima Potts of Richardson; great-grandson, Jordan Baker of Little Rock, Ark.; brother, Frank Everett and family of Piedmont; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kem and John Betts and Nita Bryant, all of Mineola, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m Monday at the Red Oak Funeral Chapel. Celebration of his Life will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005,also in the Red Oak Chapel. Interment will follow at 12:45 p.m. in the DFW National Cemetery, Dallas. Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
