"Susie" was a great friend & my best friend. We've known each other since 1966 & it is a great loss to me that she is no longer here on Earth. She was a true friend to anybody who had the privilege of having her as a friend. When she worked, she worked hard and when she played she played just as hard. Susie had strong work ethics & expected as much from coworkers. Susie loved arrowhead hunting & had a huge collection. If I'm not mistaken, a collection of her arrowheads hang in Rep. Drew Darby's office in Austin. We loved to go to old out of the way and some not so out of the way places exploring the antique stores and just what ever happened to pop up. She did alot of this with her sister, Phyllis. As teenagers, we had a lot of fun running around in her old MG and almost froze to death in the winter because of a missing window but we didn't care. We met her future husband, Kenneth Poss, while running around in that car! We had a lot of laughs together that would bring tears to our eyes because they were so funny. Even years later when we'd retell a story to somebody we'd still laugh so hard we cried. We liked to go to Neff's Amusement Park by the river. We'd get in the Monkey Cage (enclosed cage that had to be rocked back & forth to get it to go over the top). We were pros on it! One nite we'd just gotten out of it & got Dr. Peppers & 2 guys came up to ride it. We were sitting on the picnic benches watching them as they struggled to get it over. Barely got half way up before it timed out on them. They never made it over the top. We looked at each other & knew what the other was thinking. We still had tickets so we went up to it & as we did we could hear them chuckling & laughing to themselves about how 2 girls could never do it. Wellll, we showed them! We were up & over in no time & had it going so fast we could almost hear them sucking air. We were laughing so hard inside the cage I don't know how we were able to do it but we did. And like the time we met 2 other guys at the KN Root Beer Drive-in. When we left, they kept following us. We "cut corners" to avoid the traffic lites to lose them but they'd do the same. At one point, we were able to hit the lite just right so that they'd have a red lite & no corner to cut. We were able to get down to a hidden road by the river & turn off the car lites. We watched them go by several times & could hear them asking each other "where did they go". To be there & witness this would make anybody laugh! One of the guys eventually married a friend of mine. "Ken'thearl" as I called him, never got tired of hearing the stories or laughing with us. He'd shake his head with that twinkle in his eyes & just laugh! How I miss them both!

Susie became a Heavenly Angel exactly 31 years after her father became a Heavenly Angel.

Susie was predeceased by her parents, Elvis and Peggy Parker. She is survived by her brother, Phillip Parker and wife Linda, her sister and faithful care-taker, Phyllis Wimberley and husband Bill, and brother, David Parker and wife Sharon, and sister at heart, Glenna who misses her everyday.
