Sucker Lake Rd.-Frederick J Cooper, Sr., 81, in Oswegatchie passed away Jan. 24, 2016 at his home. Arrangements with French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake, funeral service at the funeral home with Fr. Stephen Rocker officiating. Burial at Woodland Cemetery in Fine.
Frederick was born on August 15, 1934 in Ogdensburg to Harry E and Anna M Walker Cooper. He married Lena E Terry on Nov. 13, 1952 at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Star Lake. Lena passed away on January 7, 2004.
Fred worked for J & L Steel for 21 years; Rosco for four years and for Newton Falls Paper Mill for several years. Surviving are three sons and two daughters in law, Rodney and Shirley, Timothy and Ann and Harry Cooper; three daughters and two sons in law, Ann and George Clement, Lorna and Gerald Terry and Bonnie Jackson and fiancé, Steve Thesier; two brothers, Lawrence and Earl; a sister, Mary Martin; 12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, several great grandchildren.
Frederick was predeceased by his wife, Lena; a son Frederick J Cooper Jr.; two brothers, Darrell and Harry; and a sister, Theresa Smith.
