Dr. Samuel E. Willing, one of the oldest physicians in South Chicago, died suddenly at his home, 9148 Central avenue, on Monday of heart disease. He was born in Mayville, N. Y., and came to Chicago in 1879, settling in Irondale, first as a pastor of the Cummings Methodist Church there, which he was instrumental in establishing, and then as physician. He had been in poor health for several months. He left a widow and four grown sons and daughters. The funeral will be held at the house at 10 a.m. today. The Rev. George Stewart of the Calumet Heights Methodist Church will officiate.
