Son of Alois Reinhold Geisler and Agnes M. (Stumpf) Geisler.

Married Phoebe Wilhelmina (Grasser) Butts around 1921 or 1922 in California.

Her two sons from a previous marriage adopted their stepfather's surname (Merle Wesley Butts and Vernon Arthur Butts).

Walter and Phoebe had 5 more children together:

Lois Barbara Fulbright, 1925-2016

Excerpt from obituary published May 14, 1983 in THE DAILY NEWS, Longview, Washington:

"Walter M. Geisler, 85, of Kelso, died May 12, 1983, in a local hospital. Born June 20, 1897 in Germany, he moved to this area in 1949 from California. He was a member of the Kelso Eagles. He had worked as a boilermaker and welder.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois Fulbright of Kelso, and...; two sons, Ward Geisler, and Edward Geisler, both of Kelso; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McVicker's Chapel on the Hill with the Rev. Leland Whitaker officiating. The casket will remain closed at the service. Interment will be at Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens."
