Roy Lee(Sonny) Jackson went to be with Jesus on January 22, 2016. His funeral will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 2PM at the Charleston United Methodist Church with burial in the East Delta Cemetery. Royce Slough will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 25, at the Delta Funeral home from 6PM–8PM


He was born on October 6, 1936 in Enloe, Texas.He was the son of Weldon Jackson and Dollie Wallace Jackson. He was a rancher and served in the Army National Guard. He married Dolores Scott on August 13, 1960.


He is survived by his wife Dolores Jackson of Charleston and two sons, Jerry and wife Tracie Jackson of Quitman and John Jackson of Addison, three grandchildren Jake Jackson of Texas Tech, Lubbock and Jhett and Jentri Jackson of Quitman, and one aunt Estelle Wilson of Paris and many cousins and friends.


He was member of Charleston United Methodist Church, Delta Roping Club, Soil Conservation Board, MUD Board, American Quarter Horse Association and American Legion.


In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to Charleston United Methodist Church.
