Cecil Kefauver Holter Jr., 90, Adamstown, died on January 19, 2016. He was the husband of Charlotte Sheffer Holter. He was born on July 28, 1925 a son of Cecil K. Holter Sr. and Elsie R. Holter. Surviving, besides his wife, are: two sons, C. Kurt Holter and his wife Libby, of Frederick, MD, and G. Eric Holter and his wife Kathleen, of Harrisonburg VA. Also, four grandchildren, Andrew R. Holter of Baltimore, Emily Y. Holter of Charlottesville VA, Clarke W. Holter and his wife Elizabeth of Northport AL, and Colin K. Holter and his wife, Jessica Narum of Berea, OH. He is also survived by a great granddaughter, Charleigh Ann Holter, of Northport AL. 1 brother, Richard R. Holter, Frederick.

He was a graduate of Middletown High School and attended the University of Maryland. After 13 years with the Farmers’ Coop Association in Frederick he joined a family farming partnership. He was a 15 year board member and for a time, board president for the FCA. He belonged to Christ Reformed Church in Middletown and served several terms on the Consistory in addition to various committees, including the church choir. He held memberships in the Grange, the Frederick County Farm Bureau, and the Maryland Holstein Association.

Mr. Holter enjoyed his family and grandchildren very much as well as spending time on Maryland’s eastern shore. Since 2000, Mr. Holter lived with his wife Charlotte at Buckingham’s Choice.
