Mrs. Shirley Temple Shepherd, age 78 of North Wilkesboro, wife of Floyd Shepherd, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. David Wellborn and Rev. Allen Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:45 until 10:45 prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Shepherd was born June 12, 1937 in Wilkes County to Roey and Gladys Griffin Cardwell. She was a member of Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church. Mrs. Shepherd was a homemaker
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; Annie Viola Cardwell, and five brothers; Wake Weaver Cardwell, Burl Cardwell, Hurley Cardwell, Warren Cardwell and David Cardwell.
Mrs. Shepherd is survived by her husband of 58 years, Floyd of the home, two sons; Ronald Floyd Shepherd and wife Tina of Winston Salem, Leonard Franklin Shepherd of the home, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister; Faye Ball of North Wilkesboro and one brother; Earl Cardwell of Wilkesboro.
