Jack was the son of Jace Connell and Unknown (Mullins) Connell. (Tennessee Death Certificate information.) He married Callie Mildred Davidson on December 6, 1885, in Gibson County, Tennessee.

Jack and Callie were the parents of ten known children--Lela, Minnie Lee, Jay Wilson, Annie D., Ida, Jim, Ina, Raymond, Pearl, and C. C. Connell.

According to his Death Certificate, Jack is buried in Ridgely, Lake County, Tennessee; however, NO GRAVESTONE has been found. He was a widower at the time of his death, and his wife, Callie, is buried in Horn Ridge Cemetery, located in Lake County, Tennessee. His daughter, Lela (Connell) Strieff who also predeceased him, is buried in this cemetery. Callie is buried beside their daughter, Lela.

An aged local historian notes that many of the gravestones in Horn Ridge Cemetery have been lost or stolen over the years.
