James Thomas Hendrix, 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.

Son of the late Paul McKinly Hendrix and Arizona Wilson Hendrix; husband of Shelby Jean Sheriff Hendrix, for 39 years.

Owner and operator of Hendrix Insurance and School of Duncan.

He was a veteran of the US Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He assisted veterans and lead veterans color guard groups in Veteran Day celebrations.

He was a member of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, a former member of Duncan First Baptist and Victor Baptist Church, where he was saved.

Survivors include a son, Lewis Hendrix of Greer; two daughters, Erica Clyburn (Charlie) of Lyman, Karen Stroble of Greer; a brother, Doug Hendrix; six grandchildren, Nathan, Knox, Julianna and Will Clyburn, Brandi and Luke Medford.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Wilton and Charles Hendrix; a granddaughter, Tonya Medford.

The family received friends 1:30-2:30 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Stribling Funeral Home.

Graveside Services with Military Honors followed at 3:00 PM at Wood Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Hickman officiating.
