Ruth A. Heckler, 81, of Sumner, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23 at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont.
Ruth was born January 14, 1935, in Allendale, the daughter of Gilbert and Phoebe (Loudermilk) Beal. She married George L. Heckler on November 10,1951.
Ruth worked at Golden Rule for more than 20 years. She owned her own sewing shop. Ruth and her husband, George, owned and operated Heckler's Furniture Store just south of Sumner until their retirement. Ruth enjoyed her flowers and her miniature dachshund dogs.
She is survived by her husband; a son; a daughter; two half-sisters; three granddaughters; and lastly, her faithful companion, Dolly. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one half-brother.
