Alton Dwight "Al" Bain, age 89 of St. Peters, MO formerly of Bridgeton, MO, entered his heavenly home on Sunday, January 17, 2016. He was born on Tuesday, August 17, 1926 in Rector, Arkansas, the son of the late Escoe and Eathel (nee Walker) Bain.
Beloved husband of Jean Bain (nee Hightower); dear father and father-in-law of Charles E. (Joanne) Bain and Karen L. (Jim) Yust; loving grandfather of Angie (Matthew) Hinzpeter, Christopher (Jean) Bain, Aaron (Diane) Oelger and Denton (Cherise) Oelger; cherished great-grandfather of Alexandria, Brendan and Ashlynn Hinzpeter, Ethan Bain, Peyden and Drew Oelger; dear brother and brother-in-law of Sue (Don) Cork; dear uncle, cousin and friend.
Al honorably served our country in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Gateway Church of the Nazarene and a retired civil servant.
Services: Visitation at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 9255 Natural Bridge Road at I-170, St. Louis, MO (314-426-6000) on Thursday, January 21 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Funeral Service also at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL on Friday, January 22 beginning at 12:30pm. Burial with Military Honors follows at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County, MO.
