Harold Gordon (Boots) McClain of Waco, a retired Waco Independent School District employee, died Monday at his home. He was 84.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Waco Memorial Park, the Rev. Ken Massey officiating.
Mr. McClain was born June 2, 1907, in Knox County, and married Wilma Johnson of Gholson in December of 1927. She died Nov. 7, 1965. He married Alma sharp on Sept. 12, 1968.
He was a manager of farm and dairy operations at the Waco State Home from 1941 until 1956, and maintenance supervisor for the Waco Independent School District from 1956 until his retirement in 1973. After retiring, he worked for the Bellmead Post Office for a few years.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he taught a Bible class for several years.
Survivors include his wife; stepdaughter, Mrs. J.K. (Dorothy) Sheeler of Waco; a son, Bill G. McClain of Waco; two brothers, Robert Burger McClain and Ralph McClain, both of Waco; a grandchild, one great-grandchild, two stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.
The family has designated for memorials the hospice program of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.
