MRS. EWING DIES AT 81 AFTER ILLNESS

Mrs. Clara A. Ewing, 81, of 314 Rose Ave., died this morning at St. Agnes Hospital after a three-month illness.

She was born Dec. 25, 1888, in Crossville, ill., to John Hardy Rebstock and Dosha Jane Smith Rebstock. She was married to Harry James Ewing Dec. 22, 1923, in Peoria, ill.

Prior to her marriage, she worked as a designer in the French Room of Gage’s Millinery in Chicago. She moved with her husband in 1932 from Chicago to Fond du Lac, where she worked for a time at the Helen Butzler Millinery and Edith’s Lady’s Apparel.

Mrs. Ewing was a member of the First Christian Church of Carmi, Ill.; a member and past president of Fond du Lac Woman’s Club; a member in the 6th District of the Federated Women’s Clubs; a member and past president of the Chicago & North Western Railway Women’s Club, a member of Order of Eastern Star No. 70; and past president of Fond du Lac Commandery No. 5 of the Knights Templar Auxiliary. She was also active in the Republican Women’s Club and other political groups.

Mrs. Ewing is survived by a niece, Mrs. Elmer Kuehn of Fond du Lac, who lived with her since childhood, and two great nephews, William and Charles Kuehn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died Oct. 17, 1942; two sisters, Nora Lee Myers and Hattie Rebstock; and two brothers, Lawrence Rebstock and John Robley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from Bidlingmaier Funeral Home, the Rev. B. J. Stecker officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Baraboo.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Ewing, who died Saturday, were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Bidlingmaier Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernard Stecker officiating.
Mr. Eleanor Johnson was the organist. Burial was in Walnut Hills Cemetery, Baraboo.
Pallbearers wee Donald Voss, Robert Radtke, Emery Burton, Erving Kaiser Edward Schultz and Norman Peters.
