Mrs. Goldie Dawson Locke, 81, of Wayne City, died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday June 1, 1996, at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon. Her death came on her birthday. Funeral rites will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the York Funeral Home in Wayne City, with Rev. Glen Martin officiating. Internment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery near Wayne City. Visitation will be conducted after 6 p.m. Monday (tonight) from the York Funeral Home. She was born in Missouri June 1, 1915, the daughter of William Jack and Mary Eugene GAN Atteberry. She was married to Meyers Dawson in 1937 and he passed away in 1964. Then in 1974 she was married to Gordon Locke. He died in 1989. Mrs. Locke was a member of the Olive Branch Church. Memorials may be made through the York Funeral Home for that church. Preceding her in death in addition to two husbands were her parents, one son, three brothers, four sisters, two half-brothers and two half-sisters. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ronnie (Doris) McGuire, of Aurora; Mrs. Don (Mary Ann) DeFoy, of Camdenton, MO.; and Mrs. Everette (Helen) White, of Batavia; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Junior Atteberry of Richland, MO.; Leonard Atteberry, of Waynesville, MO.; and Dale Atteberry, of Waynesville, MO.; and two sisters, Betty Hopkins, of Laquey, MO.; and Rosalee Mortenson, of Richland, MO.
