XENIA — Charles P. Feaster, age 94 of Xenia departed this life Monday, January 11, 2016. Born in Louisville, KY to the late Treasvant A. II and Margret Feaster. After attending high school, he enrolled at Tuskegee Institute. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, as a Tuskegee Airman he fought for his right to fight for America. Graduate of Central State University and retiree of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base with 38 years of service. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the Presidential Gold Coin by Pres. Barack Obama and also honored with the Proclamation Seal of the City of Xenia, Ohio. A longtime member of Zion Baptist Church where served in many capacities. He formerly served on the Xenia City Civil Service Commission, Secretary of the Wilberforce-Xenia Optimist Club. A member of the Pals, (Promoters of the Arts, Literature and Sciences) Club. He resided in Xenia for over 60 years and is survived by his loving wife, of 65 years, Mae; son Roy (Sheila) Leavelle; sister Gloria Hurt; brother, Treasvant (Allison) Feaster; many nieces, nephews and devoted friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 19, 2016, 5-7 P.M. at Zion Baptist Church, 565 E. Main St., Xenia, OH. Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the church with Pastor Gary Chapman officiating. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Charles P. & Mae Feaster Scholarship Fund, c/o Zion Baptist Church. Interment Valley View Memorial Gardens.
