Two young Emberling/Emmerling Girls are buried side by side in the woods on a hill approx. 200 yards south of Henson Gap/Poe Road and approx. 800 yards east of the Emmerling Branch on Sequatchie County Lewis Chapel, TN Mountain. William A. & Sarah Emberling/Emmerling (parents) married 5/8/1859 and lived nearby at the time. These girls were born after the 1860 census (born 1860-1864) and died before the 1870 census. NOTE: They do not appear on the 1860 or the 1870 census. However, these two graves do appear on the land owner’s property deed. These two graves were once marked by stones head and foot and are now unmarked. Information provided by Mr. Nevel Lewis, Lewis Chapel Mountain.
