Audrey Doris Gipson, 89, formerly of Comanche, OK and long time Stephens County resident passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Gregston Nursing Home in Marlow, OK. Audrey was born on March, 23, 1926 in Osage County, OK to Thomas J. and Pearl M. (Pierce) Stephens.

She married Troy Edward Gipson on May 13, 1948 in Cleveland, OK and soon thereafter they established residence in Stephens County where they lived happily together for the next sixty-two years until Troy’s death in November 2010.

Beginning in the mid-1970s, Audrey was proprietor of the Duncan Lake Concession for thirteen years and very much enjoyed preparing meals and visiting with the many lake visitors and campers. In her earlier years, Audrey was a dedicated Girl Scout leader, an accomplished bowler and also an avid bridge player.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and sisters, Paul, Bob, Billy, Mary and Beulah; a granddaughter Lezli Dionne Watson and numerous in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 20. 2016 at Alma Cemetery, Alma, OK
