She was born in the Netherlands on March 29, 1924 and immigrated to the United States in 1950.
In her younger years she was a well known fashion model in Europe before extending that career to the USA.
During World War II, she participated extensively in the Dutch Resistance Movement during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands and was directly responsible for saving many, many lives.
The love of her life was Dale Everett Gunn. They walked through life together for over 50 years as they served diligently in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including 25 years of temple service and three missions. They also enjoyed their horses, made friends and touched many lives for good. She was a talented landscape artist and her oil paintings received many awards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her seven siblings. She is survived by her daughter Helga (Robert K) Wilson; Dale (Debbie) Butler; and her nine grandchildren: Robert D. (MaryAnne) Wilson, William Alexander (Miwa) Wilson, Sietske (Chad) Nichols, Letitia (William) Purser, Marlise (Donovan) White, Elena (Robert) Stapleton, Spencer (Cortni) Wilson, David (Danielle) Wilson, Anna (Joshua) Kelsch, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009 in the Granite View Stake Center, 9880 South 3100 East, Sandy, UT. The Funeral will be under the direction of the Dimple Dell Park Ward, Granite View Stake, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Friends and family may call on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services in the Stake Center.
Interment will be in the Hoytsville Cemetery, Hoytsville, UT.
