Ms. Williams, age 84 of State Route 4, Whitehall, passed away peacefully in Atlanta, Georgia.

She was born the youngest daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Gordon) Aikens.

She attended school in Whitehall and was a lifelong resident. Early on, she worked as a switchboard operator for AT&T in Whitehall and later worked as a seamstress in several local shirt factories.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a true friend to everyone whose heart she touched. She had a sharp wit, a great sense of humor and always provided inspiration and support when it was most needed. She had a great love for animals and cared for many cats and dogs during her lifetime. She also kept a hummingbird feeder in her back window and really enjoyed watching them.

She is survived by her children; one son of Whitehall and one son of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren; one of Connecticut and one of Whitehall; her great grandchild of Whitehall and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Harold in 2007 and her daughter Linda in 1977. She was also predeceased by her brother Harry Aikens and her sisters Marie Ehntholt, Marjorie Rathbun and June Cantiello.

Services were held at the Jillson Funeral Home, Williams Street, Whitehall. Pastor Paul Shepherd of the Grace Baptist Church presided.
