Adrienne Loretta Wilson Shoup, 81, of Granite Falls passed away Saturday January 9, 2016 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Shoup was born April 23, 1934 in Burke County to the late Reece Wilson and Claire Crump Wilson. She worked as a seamstress. Mrs. Shoup was a member at Rutherford College First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Hermon Shoup; son, Barry Keith Shoup; brother, Ivey Sherrill Wilson; half brother, Jack Wilson; and half sister, Barbara Depew.
Survivors include her sons, Brian David Shoup of the home, and Greg Shoup and wife Kristi of Granite Falls; grandchildren Sabrina Frye, and Trevor Johnson; great grandchildren; Celeste Watson and Henry Frye; brothers, Hank Wilson and wife Louella, and Bob Wilson and wife Caroline; and sisters, Carol Puett; Marylin Boyd and husband Ned, and Martha Benfield and husband Elgie. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. Shoup will be 2:00PM Thursday January 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service. Interment will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park in Morganton, NC.
