COULTERVILLE - Tamara Jo Rude, 55, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at her home. She was born Aug. 15, 1960, in Pinckneyville, a daughter to Carl Wallace and Ruth (Schack) Miller. On Dec. 2, 1978, she married Marion Smith in Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death in August 2003. On April 23, 2005, she married Richard "Rick" Rude in Coulterville, and he survives. Tamara was a member of Winkle Baptist Church and worked as a CNA at Manor at Mason Woods in Pinckneyville. She loved playing tennis, golf, billiards and table tennis and riding bicycles. Survivors include her husband, Rick Rude of Coulterville; mother, Ruth Miller of Nashville; three sons, Adrian Smith of Pinckneyville, Jacob (Kassy) Smith of Johnston City and Troy (Tristan) Smith of Royalton; stepson, Richard (Brandy) Rude of Coulterville; four stepdaughters, Tammy (Ed) Marshall of Sparta, Jennifer Rude -Little of Coulterville, Betsy (Larry) Szostak of Big Rock, Tennessee, and Ricky (Quintin) Ray of Sullivan; two brothers, Rick (Beverly) Miller of Pinckneyville and Carl Miller Jr., also of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Vicky (Vernon) Cross of Ava and Cindy Higgerson of Owensboro, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Dillon Smith and Evelyn Smith; 23 stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and first husband. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, in Winkle Baptist Church in Winkle with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, and 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis. Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville is in charge of arrangements.
