LOUIE FRANK AGUIAR Louie Frank Aguiar, (81) A lifelong resident of Orland. Louie passed away peacefully in his home on January 9, 2016 surrounded by his family. Louie was born April 20, 1934 to parents Frank and Eliza Aguiar, immigrants from the Azores. He attended Orland public schools and graduated from Orland High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army until 1956, stationed in Germany and traveling through Europe. On January 24th, 1959, he married Ermanell Brogden of Orland. They made their home on Aguiar Ranch, raising olives and their three children. ln 1974, he became employed at Bell Carter Foods in Corning as their Field Manager, a career he loved and remained doing for over 30 years. He was involved in many organizations in Orland, coaching little league and serving on many boards including Pop Warner, Knights of Columbus, Orland Holy Ghost, Orland School Board and the Orland Water Users. He loved watching sports, water skiing and fishing. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, attending their sporting events and taking them fishing, always the Ioving "Papa Louie". He also loved spending his days palling around with his "partner in crime", his best friend and brother, Jimmy. In 2005, he traveled with his daughter, brother Jimmy and several other family members to the Azore Island of Terceira discovering his heritage and meeting family. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Lawrence and George. He is survived by his wife, Ermanell, twin sons Scott and Kevin, daughter Chere Funkner (Michael), grandsons Kyle and Brady Aguiar and twins Mason and Logan Funkner, brother James and countless nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 12,2016 at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 822 A Street, Orland, CA followed by lunch in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Veteran's charityof your choice.
