REDKEY--Mrs. Irene Abernathy, 78, Redkey, died Friday in the Frazee Nursing Home, near Dunkirk. She was the mother of Jake Abernathy of Muncie and had been a lifelong resident of Redkey.
She is survived by three other sons, James, Kokomo, John, Dunkirk, and Joseph, Redkey; two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Pennington, Bradenton, Fla., and Mrs. Rebecca Anderson, Portland; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Jones Mortuary, Redkey, after 10 a.m. Saturday. Services will be there at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
