Dale D Adams, Sr., 96, of Dale Adams Road, Sugar Grove, died January 10, 2016 at James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN. He was born in Watauga County, NC on February 20, 1919. A disabled American veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during WWII. For many years he was an active member of Cove Creek Baptist Church. He retired from R. D. Hodges Oil Company. An avid golfer, Dale was a member of the Boone Golf Club since 1961.
Dale is survived by his wife, Earlena Greene Adams; sons, Dale Adams, Jr and wife Mary of Vilas and Kent Adams of Lenoir; grandson, Jason Adams and wife Krystal, of Oklahoma; step grandson, Tony Glenn and wife Stephanie, of Vilas; great granddaughter, Chelsea Adams; great-grandsons, Garrett, Justus, Malachi and Elijah Adams; and step-great grandchildren, Gideon and Melea Glenn. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Adams; sisters, Margaret Grigg and Reba Bingham; and grandson, Randy Adams.
Funeral services held at Cove Creek Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Shelby Stephens and Rev. Daniel Lawrence. Burial in the Cove Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
