"Mrs. Lizzie Boyle Phelps, wife of Dr. T. G. Phelps, the well known osteopath, dies at her home, 102 Walnut Street, at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning of lymphatic abscesses after a lingering illness. On February 9, Mrs. Phelps, accompanied by her husband, went to Kirksville where she underwent an operation. Nine days afterward she returned to her home in this city seemingly much better.

The funeral will be held from the Phelps home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. Gardner of Odessa, Mo., conducting the services.

Lizzie Boyle was born four miles north of Sampsel in January 1861. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Boyle. She moved with her family to Chillicothe about thirteen years ago, where she had since made her home. On April 28, 1881, she was married to Dr. T. G. Phelps, the nuptuals being celebrated at the Boyle home. She was a good Christian woman and her gentle manner won her a large circle of friends who were grieved at the announcement of her death.

Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Fannie Holt of Newtown, Mrs. Cecil Nichols of Kansas City, and the Misses Stella, Irma and Octavia of this city. The children were all at her bedside when she passed away, with the exception of Mrs. Holt. One brother, J. L. Boyle of Bryan Street, also survives. He is the last of seven children of the Boyle family." The Chillicothe Constitution, April 3, 1913
