Her husband, Oliver Stroud, was killed in battle during the civil war. Mrs. Stroud has been a Christian, a member of the Methodist church, for more than seventy years. Her faculties were remarkably preserved, and for one of her age she was exceptionally intelligent and in touch with all that was going on about her.
