Hazel Florence Shockey, 95, of Ravenswood, Jackson County, WV, departed this life April 22, 2002, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pt. Pleasant, WV, following an extended illness.

She was born June 30, 1906, at Pine Grove, WV, a daughter of the late Ephriam and Martha Stackpole. She was a homemaker and attended Ravenswood Senior Citizens and Praise Cathedral Church of Ravenswood. Survivors include three daughter, Linda Bever of Ravenswood, Helen Joan Barber of Fairplain, and Norma Burgess of Ravenswood, 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Shockey, brothers, Arza, Burl, Clarence, Amos and Charlie Stackpole, and a sister, Amelia.

Funeral service was on Wednesday, April 24, 2002 11:00 AM, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Pastor George Weirick and Pastor Jim Dale officiating. Burial followed in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
