Delores Vivian (Bowen) Brackman, 79, of Mays, passed away Thursday, January 7, at Methodist Hospital.
Delores was born February 19, 1936 in Rush County to the late Bert and Ruth Bowen.
She graduated from Mays High School in 1954 and went on to be a medical secretary for a doctor in Indianapolis. She later came back home to Rush County to be a legal secretary for attorney James Foster in Rushville.
She married Jim Brackman in October of 1962 , and became a full time mother and farmers wife in the Mays area. She was a member of the Food, Fad & Fashion Homes Club, DAR member and liked playing euchre with her card club friends.
She will be sadly missed by her family, Theresa (Roger) Richert, Sharon (Tim) Smalley, Michelle (Brian) Speers, Anita Fry (Mike Messer, companion) and Todd (Katie) Brackman.
Delores was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her husband Jim Brackman and brother Spencer Bowen, at birth.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 1 PM at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory. Friends and loved ones may visit from 11 AM until the time of service.
Delores will be laid to rest at East Hill Cemetery following her celebration.
