Eunice M. Stachowitz, 74, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Lake Winona Manor of Winona Health in Winona, MN. Eunice was born May 18, 1938, in Jackson, MN, to Franklin "Vernon" and Florence (Halverson) Folsom. She married Eugene B. Stachowitz on June 27, 1959, in Altura, MN. Together Eunice and Eugene made their home in Winona where Eunice worked for Community Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 38 years. She retired in 2001 due to her health and had been a resident of Lake Winona Manor for the past 5 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona. Eunice enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading. The family wishes to thank the staff at Winona Health and Lake Winona Manor for the loving and professional care given to their wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene; three children, Curtis (Traci) Stachowitz of Goodview, MN, Keith (Linda) Stachowitz of Byron, MN, and Jane (Paul) Brandt of Sun Prairie, WI; 7 grandchildren, Ryan and Ross Stachowitz, David Babcock, Michael and Shelby Stachowitz, and Derek and Kimberly Brandt; brother, Frank (Pat) Folsom of Stockton, MN; nieces, Jennifer and Janell; and nephew, Grady. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Lori Ann.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, October 6th, at 11:00am, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Reverend James Berning officiating. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service - Hansen Goodview Chapel from 5-8:00pm where there will be a Christian Prayer Service at 7:30pm. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
