NILES—Funeral services will be held at the Holeton— Yuhasz Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Roy C. (Shorty) Bacon, 88, of 2855 Anderson—Morris Rd., who died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday at the Salem Community Hospital East Unit where he had been a patient for the past four days following an extended illness.

Born in Bazetta Twp. Mar.7,1886 he was a son of the late Carleton and Carrie Bacon and resided in this area most of his life.

He was well known as the greenskeeper at the Trumbull Country Club golf course retiring 20 years ago after many years of service.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Wade Bacon, of Lisbon and Stanely Bacon with whom he made his home, a brother, Glenn, of Cortland, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

A son Paul preceded him in death as did one sister and two brothers.

Friends may call at the funeral home any time today, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Philip Sinner of the Girard Trinity Lutheran will officiate and interment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park.
