Charles R. Blackmar Sr., 81, died Thursday, January 7, 2016. He was the husband of the late Marie "Oma" (Schmidt) Blackmar.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas T. and Marie S. (Gleavey) Blackmar.

Mr. Blackmar was the director of building maintenance for the City of Warwick and was the owner with his wife, Oma and Opa's Kitchen in Warwick.

He was the beloved father of Charles R. Blackmar, Jr., WPD (Ret.), Ronald T. Blackmar, Cranston PD (Ret.), Michael L. Blackmar, Debra M. Davies, Stephanie D. Chattillion, and Melissa A. Richardson; loving grandfather of Tracy, Heidi, Elizabeth, Jamie, Kyle, Ian, Ashley, Amanda, Colin, Nicholas, and Colby; great grandfather of Ava, Alexa, Brendan, Elsyee-Jean, Lyla and Jack.

His funeral will be held Tuesday January 12, 2016 at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick with a Requiem Eucharist at 10 am in St. Mark Episcopal Church, West Shore Road, Warwick. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. TheQuinnFuneralHome.com.
