She was born on December 1, 1915, on the family farm at Coletoville near Victoria, Texas. Her parents were Charles August Kolle and Helena Marie Kolle.
She lived her entire adult life in Corpus Christi and was a charter member of St. Patrick’s Parish on S. Alameda and the parish Altar and Rosary Society. Because she didn’t drive, she missed many of the Society’s functions but compensated by faithfully praying the rosary every day for more than 50 years.
She became a widow in 1986 when she was preceded in death by her husband, William W. "Billy" Chapman Jr.
She was also preceded in death by her three sisters and their spouses; Anita Leona and James B. Gardner, Lillian Kathryn and E. J. Pantel, and Irene Marie and Douglas Nance.
She is survived by her son, William W. Chapman III, her daughter-in-law, and grandson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews all of whom were with her at the time of her death.
Visitation will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on S. Alameda on Tuesday, August 31, 2004. A Requiem Mass will follow with a short reception in the Parish Youth Center to follow after Mass. Interment will be held privately at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that a donation be made in her name to your favorite charity.
